Taking control of your home's water quality? This Geekpure housing is the first step. It's a standard 'Big Blue' style clear housing that holds a single 4.5-inch diameter by 10-inch tall filter cartridge (cartridge sold separately). The clear body is super handy because you can actually see when your filter is getting dirty and needs changing. It has 1-inch NPT brass inlet and outlet ports for good flow rate (around 5-15 GPM, depending on your water pressure). The kit comes with everything you need to mount it: the housing, a metal bracket, a plastic wrench for opening it, and screws. Important note: Because it's clear (not the stronger blue opaque plastic), the manufacturer recommends your water pressure stays under 50 PSI for safety and longevity – if your pressure is higher, you'll need a pressure regulator before it. It has a handy pressure release button on top for bleeding air. Installation is pretty straightforward for a handy person – you'll need to plumb it into your main water line after the meter/shutoff. Remember to lubricate the big O-ring with silicone grease! A great foundation for a sediment filter, carbon filter, or other whole-house treatment.
